Can I buy retaining wall blocks or sleepers from you?
No. We only supply the bulk materials a wall needs: road base, drainage gravel, concrete blend and sand.
What gravel should backfill a retaining wall?
A free-draining gravel such as 20mm blue metal or 20mm recycled concrete, usually packed around slotted ag pipe. Follow the specification from your wall supplier or engineer.
What sits under the first course of blocks?
Normally a compacted road base levelling pad. Some walls need a concrete footing as well.
Does a retaining wall need approval?
Possibly. Taller walls, and walls near buildings or boundaries, may need an engineer’s design and council approval, so talk to your council first.
